Flasher Fiction Friday!

Who says I can't do new things?  As a fun way to stretch my writing muscles, so to speak, I decided to take part in Flasher Fiction Friday with a group of talented authors.  The goal?  Take one picture and interpret it any way we like.  The catch?  100 words.  No more, no less.

Hopefully my humble first offering will do.

The hiss of the shower echoed as he paced.   She’d started out standing, jaw tight, head high, just like she’d walked out of that hellhole.  Gradually, though, she’d slid down, arms cradling her body.

After what felt like hours, he growled a curse, stalking in after her.  Yanking off his shirt, he kicked his jeans off to puddle on the floor.

There were no words. What could he possibly say?  He’d failed.  Hands slipped around her.  She was trembling, dark, damp curls tickling his chin. Achingly slowly, she leaned into him.

“I’m sorry—“

“Just shut up and hold me.”
